The MSU Writing Center is recruiting Undergraduate Writing Consultants for the Writing Center’s 395 course. Most undergraduates take the WRA/ENG 395 course and apply to become a consultant, and 395 also counts as a community-engaged learning course and a Tier II writing course.
In identifying prospective consultants, the Writing Center looks for good listeners, thoughtful respondents, and eager learners who are excited about writing and social justice. They welcome your nominations by emailing Grace Pregent (pregentg@msu.edu) with the names and emails of any undergraduates whom you think should be invited to take WRA/ENG 395.
Benefits of working in the Writing Center include extra income, friendships and community, research opportunities and funding, mentoring, regular professional development, and transferable skills to future jobs and graduate school.
Per the WC: “We look forward to another cohort joining us for the spring 2027 semester and offer thanks for your time and assistance in this!”
