Experiential education is a philosophy of education that focuses on the transactive process between teacher and student involved in direct experience with the learning environment and content. Experiential education involves experiential teaching and learning.

The following initiatives are examples of experiential education in the IAH classroom:
This event will bring together interested faculty and staff members to think about experiential pedagogy and course design and share ideas related to global experiential learning activities. The program is sponsored by MSU's Career Services Network, International Studies and Programs Office, Office of the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education, and Office of Faculty and Organization Development.

Service Learning is a method of teaching, learning and reflecting that combines academic classroom curriculum with meaningful service throughout the community More specifically, it integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, encourage lifelong civic engagement, and strengthen communities for the common good.
