Examines the debates and controversies regarding the issue of globalization and its influence on the United States and the larger world. Utilizes arguments and evidence involving globalization taken from a variety of sources including memoirs, fiction, opinion articles, academic reporting, art, music, film, television, email, websites, and blogs.

IAH 205: Africa and the World

Explores Africa´s internal dynamics including the ways in which the continent became integrated in the global system. Investigates the interplay between internal and external socio-economic, political, and religious forces operating within African societies. Draws upon case studies from the wide array of diverse cultures from western, eastern, central, and southern Africa.
