IAH 231B: Memory Cultures: Representing the Holocaust in German, US, and Global Contexts
This course confronts the processes by which the genocide that emanated from Germany has become so deeply embedded in our collective imaginations. We will look at stories given to us by individuals who experienced those events firsthand; we will also look at ways in which that testimony has transferred to much larger processes of collective storytelling.
