IAH 221B - Great Ages: Medieval and Early Modern World
Virtual Realities and Imagined Worlds: Medieval and Renaissance Utopias

In this course we will consider a wide range of utopic genres and visions, aiming to understand both the cultures within which they were written and the forms of justice they promote. This course will introduce students to the concept of “Utopia” – literally “no place” – primarily as a literary form invested in the critique and re-imagination of social relations and formations.
