Support for IAH courses

We invite IAH and MSU wide faculty, advisers and students to share ideas that may lead to collaborative projects in research, best teaching practices, active learning, community engagement and the place of liberal learning in today’s multicultural, diverse and global world.
 

In order to facilitate the development of proposals and initiatives linked to the goals of IAH, we provide the following incentives:
 

• Featured IAH course syllabi


• Funds for guest speakers/artists (PDF Guideline) that participate in IAH classes.


• Funds to purchase materials (PDF Guideline) (dvds for example) for your class – these materials will remain part of the CISAH multimedia library .


• Funds to purchase textbooks/desk copies for IAH instructors.


• Support for designing web-enhanced, hybrid and online courses. (PDF Guideline) Our web designers and VuDaT programmers work with IAH faculty who wish to develop web-tools or teaching modules for Angel. In addition, we provide funds for course development with an online component.


• Information Technology Workshops (in collaboration with the College of Arts and Letters and/or the Centers for Integrative Studies at MSU)


• Engaged IAH faculty are eligible for a limited amount of travel funds to attend conferences in their fields of specialization, scholarship of teaching, teaching technologies or other events that will enhance your IAH experience. Faculty Funds for Research Activities


• Annual teaching awards for the best IAH faculty (Fintz Award) and Teaching Assistants (Somers Award)


• Funds to support experiential education in IAH courses.


• Funds to support IAH community engagement.


• Funds to organize and (co)sponsor academic events on any topic related to the arts & humanities, liberal learning, and undergraduate teaching and research.
